ESSA SW Division Notice of Changes

DORSET SCHOOLS SWIMMING ASSOCIATION (DSSA) Affiliated to ENGLISH SCHOOLS SWIMMING ASSOCIATION(ESSA)

There are a number of changes for the Academic Year starting September 2011 that will affect both our region and our schedule.

Dorset will be moving from Division 12 (South) to Division 5 (South West) Swimming against Avon, Cornwall, Devon, Gloucester, Somerset, Wiltshire

Known dates for events.

Secondary Schools National Relay Finals - Saturday 26th November ( The Quays,Southampton )
As Division 5 does not have a Regional Round, times achieved at the Dorset Secondary Schools Team Relay Event will be taken into consideration along with the other Counties in Div.5

Dorset Secondary Schools Team Relay Gala – Thursday 29th September 2011 at Purbeck L.C.
results are now available for this event in the results section

Secondary Schools Inter Divisional Final for Individuals – 30th June / 1st July 2012 ( Venue tbc)
The other Counties in our group select from Ranx times; the DSSA will consider this option for Dorset Schools at the DSSA AGM in September; in the interim, swimmers who entered the Dorset Schools Championship in May 2011, and who wish to be considered for the finals in 2012, will be invited to submit their latest times immediately AFTER the Dorset County Championships (3rd/4thWeekends February 2012) and selection will be made from those submitted times.

We are still awaiting details of these events and they will be shown on the website as soon as they are available.

THE BIG SPLASH!

Saturday 24th March 2012 is the date for the BIG Splash
As yet it is not known what form this event will take – but we have been told that NO OTHER EVENT should be planned for that date!! ............ Watch this space!!
